Shelttany Kennels became a registered CKC kennel in 1994.  We obtained our first Brittany in 1991, Crocodile Mic Dun O’Dee, who was our first obedience dog and received his CDX.  Then realizing that we both loved the breed, we obtained our first foundation bitch - CH. Jordean's New Copper Penny (OFA excellent). A sporting specialty Best Of Breed, Best of Winners, Best Puppy, with Group placements and, with a limited but impressive U.S. career, Best Of Opposite, and “A MAJOR” Best of Winners. Our second foundation bitch - CH. Jordean But Of Course (OFA Excellent) also had an impressive career Group 4th and Best Puppy in Show, National Specialty Best Of Winners, Best Puppy, Best of Opposite Sex and Best Veteran. Limited U.S. showing resulted in a Puppy Group 2nd and “A MAJOR”Best Of Opposite Sex.

From these two girls and selectively breeding to top dogs such as Ch. Millette's Super Dave and Ch. Millette's The Cavalier, we have successfully produced a National Specialty Best of Breed and multiple group placer (BISS Ch. Shelttany's King Arthur - OFA Excellent), two other Canadian Champions with multiple group wins and placements and three other Canadian Champions, including Best Puppy at the 2005 National Specialty. Our kennel has produced two Top 5 Brittany Spaniels from a limited number of litters, an accomplishment we are very proud of. Our puppies have also achieved obedience titles and legs on field titles.

Our goal is to produce a Brittany of correct structure and type, necessary in a sporting breed.  A pleasure to own, show, and hunt with. Our philosophy is to breed with our goal, of achieving the correct structure and function, always in mind. Both our foundation girls have the top winning Brittany of all times AKC CKC CH Jordean's All Kiddin’Aside “OLLIE”, an outstanding show dog, possessing a natural hunting ability.

OUR GUARANTEE

We fully guarantee, in writing our puppies for hips, health, and genetic soundness. If there is an issue with an animal's health, with proof by veterinarian exam and appropriate documentation a replacement puppy will be provided as available once the original dog has been returned.  We will allow you to keep your pet if you wish, but no replacement will be provided, and it will be required that they be spayed or neutered, and not have been used for breeding. We require that our kennel name (SHELTTANY) be used in the first nine letters of an animals CKC registered name.

The dogs that are chosen for our breeding program are as genetically sound as possible, and as we do with our own girls, screened for the usual hips, eyes, etc.  Our girls are finished Canadian Champions, and we breed to like dogs, that hunt or have shown a natural hunting ability. Breeding is a full time job. Our litters are raised in our home, as a family effort. All our dogs are family members, a joy to have, and a pleasure to own.

Puppies that are sold, as pets, are sold on non-breeding contracts. Older puppies are priced individually. Sometimes we may have older dogs for purchase or placement that have been altered already and are looking for a retirement home.
